English League One side Barnsley have confirmed the signing of attacking talent Nicky Cadden. His transfer was confirmed by the Tykes on Monday. He has put pen to paper on a two-year deal as the new Barnsley paper until the end of the 2023/24 season.
25-year-old Caddenhas joined Barnsley as a free agent with his last club being Forest Green Rovers whom he helped to win the League Two title last season. The attacker has signed for the League One club as a free agent after his Forest Green Rovers contract expired earlier this summer.New Barnsley player Cadden is an industrious, attacking player who’s comfortable on the left side.
The attack-minded wing-back is the fifth summer signing at Oakwell as they try to return to the English Championship at the first time of asking. Barnsley were one of the three teams relegated from the English Championship last season alongside Peterborough United and Derby County.
New Barnsley signing Cadden started his professional football career with the Airdrieonians in his native Scotland and he went on to play for some teams north of the border before signing for Forest Green Rovers two years ago. He played an important role as they won League Two title last season thus securing promotion to League One.Cadden had an attacking return of ten goals and 22 assists in 87 appearances while he was at Forest Green Rovers and Barnsley would be hoping that the wing-back can reprise the form at Oakwell.
